Service: Child Health (School-Age) Program

Description (Service) Public Health Nurses and Health Promotion staff are available to support schools regarding the physical, mental/emotional and social health of students, staff and families. A wide range of programs and services are offered (some are as resources permit), for example: 
* Curriculum support for teachers on most health subjects 
* Support for your new or existing Healthy School Committee (a group comprised of students, staff, parents/guardians and community members that work together make the school community a healthier place to learn, work and play).  
* Teen Esteem program for Grade 5-6 girls (see separate entry) 
* Elements program for Grade 5-6 boys (see separate entry) 
* Bullying Prevention 
* Mental Health Promotion and Mindfulness 
* Health Information for Parents [HIP] e-newsletter 
* Healthy School Links e-newsletter for school staff 
* School Based Public Health Nurse Program in most Perth County AMDSB schools (see separate entry) 
Satellite office in North Perth.
