Social Benefits Tribunal

Description (Service) The Tribunal hears appeals for the refusal to grant a benefit, suspension, cancellation, reduction or the amount of benefits under the Ontario Works Act and ODSP. To apply, an appeal form must be submitted within 30 days of the internal review decision. 
Before you may file an appeal with the Tribunal, you must request an internal review from the office that made the original decision concerning your social assistance. If you do not request an internal review, you may not appeal a decision to the Tribunal. 
You have 10 days from the date you receive the original decision to request an internal review. Your request must be in writing. 
Interim Assistance may be applied for while waiting for the appeal hearing. The Board holds province-wide hearings of appeals by individuals regarding decisions on Ontario Works or ODSP.
